I grew up in south-eastern Massachusetts. As a child during the summer, my family would take day trips to the beach at least once or twice a week. We’d arrive early in the morning, and leave late in the afternoon.
When you’re young, it is easy to take many things for granted. One of those things, for me was being so close to the ocean and being able to experience and see the beauty of the New England coast first hand.
It wasn’t until later in life I realized just how fortunate I was to be living in New England. There is so much beauty in any direction you turn.
Starting south-east from Boston, if you take a relatively short drive, you are on Cape Cod and it’s magnificent white quartz sand beaches. Head west 150 miles, and you will find yourself in the rustic and rolling hills of the Berkshires. From there if you head north you will soon hit the gentle and very Green Mountains of Vermont. Next, turn east and the majestic White Mountains and streams of New Hampshire will greet you. As if that weren’t enough, if you travel a bit further north-east through the rural countryside of Maine, you will hit one of the very special northern New England ports which include Camden, North East Harbor and Bar Harbor.
I believe my passion for photography was born out of living in such a beautiful part of the country. I have become devoted to being able to capture the beauty that I see around me and preserving it for others to appreciate.
I hope you will be inspired by these photographs and to become grateful for the immense beauty that we have in our surroundings.
